About Me
As a counsellor, my goal is to create a safe and supportive space using a strengths-based approach. Together, we will explore stressors and concerns, set goals and celebrate accomplishments.

I specialize in treating anxiety and depression. We will explore thoughts, behaviours, sensations and emotions while identifying triggers and coping strategies. We will learn why we struggle with anxiety and/or depression, then ways to manage these symptoms.

My other areas of interest include relationship concerns, sexual difficulties, stress, life transitions and trauma. I specialize and have certification in working with trauma and PTSD; specifically sexualized violence against children, women and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. This includes historical childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
I have specialized certification in sex therapy focused on lack of sexual desire, mismatch of sexual desire between couples, arousal issues, sexual pain for women and folks with vaginas, and sexual issues after trauma. I also help couples heal from betrayal, regrettable incidences and affairs while learning better ways to communicate.

When working with clients, I incorporate Mindfulness based approaches which include breathing and grounding techniques. My other certification includes repairing attachment issues, nurturing diversity and inclusion, and treating self-harm and suicide ideation.

A Bit More About Me

I enjoy connecting with family and friends, especially if there's good food involved! I attend fitness classes and yoga regularly and when I'm not moving my body, I can be found curled up with my cat and a good book, especially on a rainy day. I enjoy signing Karaoke (from the comfort of my living room) and I've been downhill skiing since the age of two but can no longer keep up with my kids on the slopes!

Safe Space
JGCS is a LGBTQ2S+ welcoming, safe, and supportive space.
I recognize that those who identify as LGBTQ2S+ are at a higher risk for mental health concerns than non marginalized populations. I have experience working with LGBTQ2S+ individuals, specifically those who have experienced sexual violence.
